What do you want?

Everything hurts and Ruby's eyes have long gone black. It's something she can't focus on right now with the whole dying thing happening. She's trying very hard not to let Sam know how bad things are, but that's getting more difficult with every passing moment. She reaches out with a black-veined hand and grabs Sam's hand, her strength slight enough at this point that she can only squeeze it lightly.

"Hey, Nerd." Her voice is raspy and soft. "I know I'm really bad at this, but thanks for sticking with me and--" a cough seizes her and she dips her head, coughing into her hand and hoping Sam doesn't notice the flecks of black ooze and dark blood there. "That was dramatic," she tries to joke. "Anyway, you know I love you, right?"

She realizes she's never actually said those words. She generally responds with me too at most and Nerd at least. Fuzzy emotions and cracking her heart wide open like that will never be easy for Ruby.
